How to beat it
A rewrite of the in-game help and of the prompts shown during the fight: no made-up strategy.
-
It traps you in an ice prison to pin you down: fire skills destroy it quickly.
-
Once it Tunnels, ranged attacks cannot reach it; a Pound skill forces it back out.
What holds for every Alpha and Omega
- After Alpha and Omega Aniimo leave BREAK state, they enter BREAK Recovery state until their BREAK gauge fully recovers. While in BREAK or BREAK Recovery state, they take greatly increased damage.
- Watch out! Warning areas will appear on the ground before the Alpha attacks. Make sure to dodge in advance!
- There will be only one chance to catch an Alpha after defeating it. Switch to the most advanced Aniipod you have to catch!
The game’s own wording
In-game help

The species: Geoclaw
Base stats for the species, taken from the official index. An Alpha is still an Aniimo of this species, only tougher.

Break Geoclaw’s ice prison using Fire skills
Basic attacks can hardly break the prison Geoclaw creates. Only fire can melt solid ice.
