Aniimo loading screen tips: every tip explained
Aniimo’s loading screens show 21 different tips. Most of them tell the story of the world (Astra, the Polaris Institute, Idyll, the Vein), a few introduce game modes, and only one is a real control tip: with an Aniimo that has level 2 or 3 flying ability, hold Jump to take off.
On this page
Between areas, Aniimo shows an illustration and a short tip. We pulled every one of them from the game texts and sorted them by theme, with what to take away from each. Some only appear from a certain level, or when you load a specific place: Astra, Idyll, a Sanctum or Egg Heist.

Astra and the Polaris Institute
| Tip | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Astra | Astra is a city floating high above Idyll, carrying the seed of Earth’s civilization. |
| Astra and Idyll | Before first contact, Idyllians never knew the “star beside the moon” was a city: to them, it was a second moon. |
| New World | Earth is described as humanity’s lost homeland. Waking from its long drift, humanity found Idyll right beneath it. |
| Phased Exploration | Astra’s first expeditions into Idyll were hard: it took Pathfinders years to slowly uncover this world’s secrets. |
| Polaris Institute | Founded by Oliver Oswen, the Institute is a teaching and research institution dedicated to Aniimo and to exploring Idyll. Students and Aniimo learn and grow there together. |
| Lumintech | Lumin Crystals from Idyll give off brilliant light. The technology that uses them as an energy source, Lumintech, solved Astra’s energy problems. |
| Omni-gloves | The Institute’s Lumintech gadgets. They bundle several apps and handle things like twining enhancement, skill use and energy transmission. |
| Aniipod | The device used to catch, equip and train Aniimo. One version of the tip says it was built with Lumintech, inspired by the ruins of the Ancient Idyll Civilization; the other says its interior folds space to give Aniimo a comfy place to rest. |
| Aniimo Trend | Aniimo are just as loved in Astra: shops, facilities and products made for Aniimo are all over the city. |
Idyll, the Vein and Twine

| Tip | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Idyll | Legend says nine Aeons created this world, where Aniimo and Idyllians have lived in harmony since time immemorial. |
| Idyllian | The Sapients of Idyll worship different Aeons depending on their tribe. They live alongside Aniimo and build Settlements with varied ecosystems. |
| Aniimo | The collective name for Idyll’s magical creatures. They control Elemental Energies and can evolve to change their look and grow stronger. |
| Vein | The Vein is the energy network that sustains Idyll. Where Veins meet at the surface, they form a Branch, which boosts the vitality of its surroundings. |
| Twine | A bond between humans and Aniimo allows spiritual communication and shared senses: you perceive the world through your Aniimo. |
| Ancient Sanctum | The Sanctum ruins scattered across Idyll are remnants of the lost Ancient Idyll Civilization. Legend says they were built to restore the Vein. |

Sanctums and game modes
| Tip | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| Solo Sanctum | Inside a Sanctum, special Aniimo are sealed in statues. Awaken them, twine with them, and head deeper in to repair the Vein. |
| Duo Sanctum | With a partner, each of you picks an Aniimo statue to awaken, and you explore the Sanctum together. |
| Operation: Egg Heist | Search the ruins of the Lost Isles for a Lost Sanctum entrance, grab rare Aniimo eggs, then escape by boat. The tip still says it’s a “test version” whose rules and rewards aren’t final. |
| Companion Mode | Your profile card lets you invite nearby Pathfinders to start Companion Mode and travel together. |
| Keepsakes Collection: Starbound Journey | The Starbound Journey badge is one of the Polaris Institute’s highest honors, awarded to the pioneers who helped shape Astra’s future. |
More on Sanctums and exploration: exploring Idyll. More on multiplayer: Egg Heist and friends, trading and Companion Mode.
The one control tip: Take Off
Take Off is the most useful tip in play: while controlling an Aniimo with level 2 or 3 flying ability, hold Jump to fly straight up from the ground. The help center adds that after takeoff, these Aniimo stay airborne at a certain height instead of dropping back down.
