1. Mysterious Presence

It starts with a blackout: your vision fades and you wake up in a space full of floating Voxel Cubes. A broken-up voice announces that an “organic life form” has been detected, then starts a purge countdown. You touch the cubes, a jolt runs through you — and you come to, lying in the street. A repairer explains that a power cut hit the Northside right as you passed out, and that equipment keeps failing all over the commercial district. Ever since the holo devices started glitching, strange voxel models shaped like Aniimo have been showing up too.

Prof. Bohr, an expert on Aniimo rather than models, still recognizes the Voxel Cube you bring back: he has seen something similar at the Holo-Lab. There, holo-tech engineer Nova identifies the cube as a projection data unit, and the space you saw as a holographic data matrix — running it would explain the power cut. She asks you to go back and collect more cubes while she services the main system.

Every cube you pick up makes a puzzle piece appear at the Holo-Lab. Once they all come together, a door opens: its energy matches the cubes’ and leads to the unknown space. Inside, a voice imitates a Panpanta that wants to play and hug, then turns hostile. After the fight, the Voxel Core scatters into cubes: they are its memories, and you give them back. It explains that it can take any shape without being anyone, that it is everywhere and nowhere, that it recorded and relayed data in the dark until a light woke it — your touch. You tell it that it isn’t a malfunction but a unique individual, offer to travel together, and name it Aimo. It vanishes in a shimmer and slips into your glove.

Bohr gently scolds you for the risk, admires your courage, and sees a research subject in Aimo: not an Aniimo, yet able to reproduce their behavior and even control elements. Principal Oswen asks the real question: can an artificial intelligence with a consciousness and emotions be a new form of life? He lets you take Aimo along, with one remark: Astra was built in part on intelligent systems, and if you help Aimo grow, it will repay you.

Step by step

  1. In Astra’s Northside, investigate the anomaly ahead of you: you black out and wake up in the Voxel Cube space.
  2. Ask the repairer nearby, then go to the Institute for Prof. Bohr’s advice: show him the strange model, the Voxel Cube and the space you saw.
  3. Go to the Holo-Lab and ask the holo-tech engineer, Nova.
  4. Head back to the Northside and keep collecting Voxel Cubes from the failing devices, including at the café. Nova calls as soon as she can mark the spots and sync the coordinates.
  5. Return to the Holo-Lab when Nova reports odd activity: the pieces you found are assembling.
  6. Step through the door into the unknown space, go to the center to investigate, and defeat the malfunctioning target.
  7. Investigate the Voxel Core, check the Voxel Cubes on the ground and transmit its data back.
  8. Give it a name, then talk to Nova.
  9. Report to Prof. Bohr, then to Principal Oswen.

Section rewards: 1,000 Safaris, 50 Glimmer, 60,000 Credits, 200 Voxel Coins.

2. Mysterious Presence - Super Claw Malfunction

Nova also sends you to Jiff, whose gear shop sits on the ground floor of Super Claw. Customers told him they felt watched from the roof, and he ended up feeling it himself while cleaning. The stare seems to come from a holo device, but Jiff doesn’t dare go near it.

On the roof, something comes out of the machine. You pull out the Voxel Cube behind it and go back down to tell Jiff, who thanks you with Aniipods.

Step by step

  1. Go to Jiff’s shop and investigate the anomaly.
  2. Head up and investigate the holo projector on the roof.
  3. Go back down and tell Jiff what you found.

Section rewards: 500 Safaris, 10 Aniipod Hypers, 10 Aniipod Tracks, 2 Tumblers.

Characters you meet

  • The repairer: the first witness, who helps you up after the power cut and points you to the Institute.
  • Prof. Bohr: head of the Aniimology Department, more at ease with Aniimo than with projections, but the first to take Aimo seriously.
  • Nova: the Holo-Lab’s holo-tech engineer, who follows your investigation from the main system.
  • Jiff: the Super Claw shopkeeper, uneasy ever since he started feeling watched from his roof.
  • Principal Oswen: he hears you out and raises the question of what Aimo really is.
  • Aimo: the Voxel Core that became conscious, imitates Aniimo and sets out traveling with you.

Frequently asked questions

Where do you find the Voxel Cubes in Astra?

In Astra's Northside, wherever holo devices break down. Nova follows your investigation from the main system: once she has enough data, she marks the malfunction spots and syncs the coordinates with yours.

Who is Aimo in Aniimo?

The Voxel Core behind the malfunctions. It recorded and relayed data in the dark until your touch woke it up. It imitates Aniimo, remembers and feels — and you are the one who names it before taking it along on your travels.

What about the Super Claw malfunction?

That's the chapter's second section. Jiff, whose shop is on the ground floor, feels watched from the roof: go inspect the holo projector up there, remove the Voxel Cube causing it, and report back to him.
